When I first began teaching I found myself spending a lot of time at school. I was an adviser for three different clubs and had four different preps. I was a young teacher getting involved in as much as I could. One day, I was at work late and this one guy who was a fantastic teacher says “You know, you really got to think about your priorities because you do so much, but you’ve got to have balance in life.”  I looked at him and said that he should have balance since he was also at school late. He then replied by saying “Don’t do what I do, do what I say”. Two weeks later, I’m in the principal’s office, and he’s also there, and while I’m talking to him, he has a heart attack and dies on the spot. It was a really rough moment and ever since then I’ve always really thought about balancing life. You’ve got to have balance, it’s important.Screen Shot 2015-11-15 at 3.55.39 PM
